Elizabeth’s FCD Work
As with many of the Folly Cove Designers, Elizabeth was inspired by nature and many of her designs focused on the patterns found within the natural world. Her focus on patterns tied into the more graphic, midcentury work of other textiles designers of the period and was featured alongside some of them in a 1957 New York Times article. Elizabeth’s work also emphasized the use of Virginia Lee Demetrios’s lessons on scale, as well as positive and negative space.
