Welcome to studio44iarrobino.com, a website devoted to the art and lives of Anthony and Elizabeth Iarrobino.

Anthony (Tony) Iarrobino and Elizabeth (Betty) Iarrobino met at Massachusetts College of Art and Design in Boston in the 1930s. They married after graduation, raised a family in Marblehead, MA, and continued to pursue their art throughout their lives. Tony referred to Betty as his “best critic.”

About

Tony’s work includes portraiture, printmaking as a Folly Cove Designer, as well as collographs, figurative work, and oil painting.

Anthony

Elizabeth joined the Folly Cove Designers and was an active member, her husband Tony soon joining the group. She also taught art at Lasell College. Additionally, her personal work included explorations in ceramics and fiber arts.

Elizabeth

The Folly Cove Designers was a juried, block printing collective founded by children’s book author Virginia Lee Burton. The group officially formed in 1941 and operated through 1969. The group gained national acclaim when they were featured in Life magazine, contracted with major retailers, and participated in seminal craft exhibitions. Anthony and Elizabeth Iarrobino were valued members of the Gloucester, MA-based group for roughly ten years.
